Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique dating back to the 17th century. Originally developed as a practical method to repair worn fabric, Sachiko features beautiful stitch patterns to create strength and style. Its name, meaning "little stabs," reflects the running stitch used to create intricate designs such as crosses (jujizashi), waves (seigaiha), and persimmon (kakinohana). Over time, Sashiko has evolved into an art form. These stencils have been produced in an effort to educate others about the art form and promote sustainability through upcycling.
